Whittlebury Hall Conference & Training Centre, Hotel & Spa’s Craig Fraser is in the running for a top industry award.

The conference and events operations manager has been shortlisted for the prestigious mia-List 2013 award.

The mia-List is aimed at recognising exceptional individuals from the meetings, hospitality and events industry. The Meetings Industry Association’s list celebrates the talents of those people who have helped make the UK meetings industry exceptional and singles them out as examples of excellence.

Craig, who has worked at Conference & Training Centre, Hotel & Spa since 2007, is delighted to have been nominated and made it onto the shortlist for this prestigious accolade.

Craig, who lives in Northamptonshire, is one of a number of nominees who have been shortlisted. Craig, along with his fellow nominees, has been put forward for consideration for the final list in recognition for that fact that they go that extra mile, beyond the call of duty and whose dedication, creative and hard work is inspirational on a daily basis.

Craig said: “It’s truly wonderful to be recognised and have my efforts appreciated by my employers and the great professionals I serve.

“To be nominated for such an award has given me a new sense of achievement with my work and this in its self tells me I’m doing the right things and I have chosen the correct path for my career. There is a long way to go still but it’s simply fantastic, I can’t stop smiling.”

To make it through to the shortlist, nominees have to have demonstrated a range of skills and qualities including:

  • Commitment to improving the guest experience and continued support to others
  • Seek new ways to improve the operation, including cost saving methods and opportunities to increase revenue
  • Help keep their organisation one step ahead of the competition
  • Being creative when it comes to problem solving or dealing with unexpected situations
